You’d be surprised how many times I get asked this question! Although the term “life coach” is relatively new, our role in society has been around since communities began.

It’s human nature to want to be our best selves. Many times we need outside help to motivate us, find encouragement, and achieve growth. Humans thrive when we have strong support systems in place. We’re not meant to walk the path alone.

It is my passion to truly listen to your needs and goals, help you develop a plan to meet them, and hold you accountable to your plan.

FAQs About Coaching

Do I need a coach?

Everyone goes through difficult challenges in life. While you may have been able to cope with the challenges you’ve encountered, it’s always a good idea to seek extra support when you need it. A coach can help you realize and overcome negative habits and/or behavioral patterns so you can achieve your full potential. People who work with a coach are the ones who are willing to do the work needed to live a more fulfilled life.

What happens during a coaching session?

Each coaching session may be different depending on the goals and needs of the person. At first, we’ll discuss what you want to accomplish through working together and lay out a plan on how to achieve your goals. Occasionally, I’ll also give you assignments to help you direct your progress. We’ll work together to discover what obstacles are in your way and figure out how to overcome them. With each session, we’ll revisit your goals and see what steps are needed to achieve them.

How does coaching compare to therapy?

Coaching is different than therapy in that its focus is not in overcoming your psychological issues. The purpose is to help you identify your goals, and then create and implement an action plan to achieve them. With coaching very little emphasis is placed on the past. Instead, our focus is on creating the life that you want now and in the future.

Is everything confidential?

While the law does not grant the privilege of confidentiality to life coaches, what we discuss will not be shared with others. Coaching is a confidential process and must remain so in order for it to be successful.
